ABC Refuse to Run Repower American Ad

After the presidential debate last night, most high profile channels ran ads from oil companies (ABC had Chevron, CBS had Exxon, and CNN had the coal lobby). Noticing that there’s something a bit off, the We Campaign1 is flagging ABC to reconsider their actions for refusing to run the Repower America ad (below) last week2.

ABC recently refused to run our Repower America ad, even though they run ads from oil companies that mislead the American people about the role fossil fuels play in the climate crisis.

They recently started a petition and sent out a message earlier this afternoon:

Our Repower America ad has a clear and simple message—that massive spending by oil and coal companies on advertising is a key reason our nation hasn’t switched to clean and renewable sources for our energy.

The petition is to “send a message to ABC and tell them to air the Repower America ad this Friday on 20/20.” The We Campaign is working on getting 100,000 public comments to ABC before 20/20’s next airing. They are currently (at the time of this posting) near 25,000 mark.

You can get more info, sign the petition, view the ad, etc. by going to: wecansolveit.org/ABC

The goal of the Alliance is to build a movement that creates the political will to solve the climate crisis—in part through repowering America with 100 percent of its electricity from clean energy sources within 10 years. Our economy, national security, and climate can’t afford to wait. []

Watch TV Season Premieres on Hulu

Ever since dropping Season‑3 on tubes everywhere this past Monday night, NBC subliminally stated to the other networks, “We’re back bitches!” Meanwhile, I rarely watch TV when I get home other than watch MNF, ESPN and FOX Sports to keep up with Sports in general. Ever since getting a Hulu invite a couple months ago, I have been more than impressed with how far it has come from its days of closed beta.

Anyways, a couple of TV shows that I have been following lately are: Heroes, Chuck, The Office, My Name is Earl, and Kitchen Nightmares to name a few. On that end, I have to give it up to NBC in letting Chuck fans have a sneak peek of Season-2’s first episode available on Hulu days before its premiere on Primetime this upcoming Monday, September 29th. You may watch it below. But best to do so soon as its suppose to expire in 2‑days.

Chuck Season‑2 “Sneak Peek” Premiere: Chuck Versus The First Date

If you have missed the other season premieres of some of the shows I have listed above, you may check them out below:

PS. On a side note (Design-wise), the only biggest grudge at the moment with Hulu is the dimension it uses: 512px by 296px. Hence, at the time of this writing, I have my main content’s width to 550px. I would like to have 500px to keep things clean and in order but with the use of different video sites (i.e. Youtube, Hulu, Video, …), it is safer to use this much space for now; though it irks me when the copy goes of to the right of a 500px video.

Heroes Season 3 is Here

Finally, Heroes is back. Definitely one of my favorite shows of all-time. I saw the “Countdown” show last night. Looking good for Season 3 is what I can say.

Anyways, Season 3 episodes starts at 9pm (Pacific). NBC is saying its two back-to-back new episodes. So that should make it from 9pm-11pm; a two-hour season premiere pretty much. But if you would like to catch up on what’s going on, you can either watch the Countdown show at 8pm or watch the last five episodes on the NBC site by going here.

PS. If you totally are new to Heroes, I’d recommend collecting the past two seasons’ DVDs. You may click on the linked images below to purchase them from Amazon:

The Office — Season 5 Trailers

With the Olympics halfway done, The Office has been producing some funny trailers lately. Here are a couple till you get your full dose of Season #5, airing on September 25th.

Then again, You got Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrutte) promoting his movie, The Rocker =)

You can try to save Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) or watch more of The Rocker promos via FreeJennaNow.com.

PS. Note: If you happen to click on Rainn Wilson’s and/or Jenna Fischer’s linked-names above, it’ll take you on their MySpace page. There, have a listen to Petra Haden’s cover of Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. Pretty interesting arrangement but very compatible to The Office’s storyline and humor.
