Daikokuya

Lots of ramen spots in DTLA. So which one to go with? Well, the 3 I like heading to when the stomach is yearning for some would probably be:

  1. Daikokuya
  2. Kouraku
  3. Orochon

But I won’t really get into all 3, this post is all about Daikokuya. I’ve always wanted to go but the long wait just wasn’t something I can do during the multiple attempts in Little Tokyo.

Black Rock “Jump”

Flickr Video

There are times when one must step up to the plate. This can be one of those times… I think(?) haha =)

First of all excuse the noob video editing skillz—this is the first time I played around iMovie ’09 (iMovie in general). The clear water below do tricks to the mind, at least it did to me as you can tell.

As you’ll see (and maybe hear) on the First “Jump”, I totally wasn’t expecting to be off course lol. As for the Second “Jump”—I just wanted to go down quick and get it over with… though I did it “normally” and not too loud this time =)

Good times! Thanks to Keno and Lou for jumping off with me. And to those at the Beach filming and watching, I hope you guys had a good laugh haha. Till next time, I need to practice =p

¡Salud!

Ode to Flight

I decided to do a quick experiment using my Canon Powershot SD880 camera. I documented my flight from Burbank to Oakland this past Sunday night. I know its an everyday thing now since its been part of society since the early 20th century but its just crazy covering 350 miles in just an hour. The convenience of that versus driving a car for 5.5–6 hours between the Bay and LA.

Flight—its simply an amazing thing.

Here is the set that I compiled.

Diet Vernors Zero Calorie Ginger Soda

Just had to post this.

Vernors—they make this great, tasty drink. It’s a diet, zero calorie ginger ale soda. I just can’t believe the taste. Think of it as sparkling water with more taste. I guess the only downside from it is the 25mg of Sodium (Na) per can. But that’s only 1% of the average 2,000 calorie diet1.

Anyways, thought I’d share it. Give it a try. Great alternative if you are trying to cut your soda intake and/or can’t stand the taste of sparkling water. That or just need some umph to burp.

PS. If you can’t find it locally, it seems Amazon delivers these:

  1. At the time of publishing this post, I probably had 2–3 cans for the day haha []
