It seems that Nike is set to release its Fall/Winter 2008 line of snowboard boots. They promoted their new line via some toy boots (as in the photos in this post). I wonder who Nike will get to join their team. For sure not Shaun White as he just inked a 10-year endorsement deal with Burton early this year. That, and it’s just going to be weird seeing him go with Nike as Burton has been there since he was a little kid.
I have to give it to Nike though, they’ll probably attract some share of the market as they are a well known brand. I just don’t know if they will attract those season-riders (such as myself) as I have been a brand-whore with ThirtyTwo in terms of snowboard boots. They are just damn comfortable and does what it needs to do to have me ride all day/night long.
Anyways, time will tell if Nike’s snowboarding line will be a hit or miss1.
I just have to say that since getting these back in late April from Zappos, I am totally impressed. They are well built and fit true-to-size. They just take a bit of breaking-in. To make things more comfortable for me, I paired them up with some Superfeet insoles like the black ones from below:
Meanwhile, it has definitely grown to be one of my favorite kicks. I might have to get a second pair before this particular style becomes extinct haha (i.e. Creative Rec model #CR4C). It sucks that Zappos don’t carry the exact black ones anymore but I did find that Revolve Clothing have them in stock.
As if grown men (like me) everywhere in Fantasy Football land haven’t suffered enough… Believe Merch has designed a t‑shirt commemorating Bernard Pollard’s infamous hit on Tom Brady this past Sunday. Not to mention, they were kind enough to add a small bio on him and why the tee came about:
Bernard Karmell Pollard (born December 23, 1984 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is an American football safety for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League. He was drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Pollard played college football at Purdue University. Pollard has been dubbed “The Bonecrusher” for his hard hits and tackles.
On September 7, 2008, Pollard was involved in a play that ended with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady being taken off the field with a knee injury and not returning for the rest of the game. It was later revealed that Pollard’s hit on Brady most likely has ended the quarterback’s season.
These caught my eye earlier in the week, and figured I should post them just in case anyone else is looking for something like ’em.1

This set is from Urban Outfitters. Description per shoe are pretty much from them. I got tired as it was hot today in the City. [↩]
I got the word from Lance earlier this week about Lids Twisted collection of hats. It’s mostly for MLB teams which have “twisted” color-schemes. For example, a NY Yankees’ cap but with Boster Red Sox colors. But yeah, pretty cool collection. I was thinking of getting one from them. It might be the only way to show some Dodger-blue pride if I do decide to watch another Giants game. So which one do you think will do from the following?
