Whassup? Crew Goes Political

It’s been 8-years since their Budweiser commercial but the “Whassup?” crew are back. They made this political spin-off of their famous one1.

Thanks goes out to Ryan for pointing this out.

Kobe, A-Rod, Phelps and Tony Hawk in Guitar Hero World Tour Commercial

An ode to Tom Cruise’s famous scene in Risky Business. This must have been bank to make but I think it was humorous and creative.

Nike “Leave Nothing (Fate)” Commercial

David Fincher directs the life-long journey of pro football players LaDainian Tomlinson and Troy Polamalu as their destinies collide in an NFL football game.

Truly a couple of the best athletes that I have been fortunate to watch so far.

MasterCard “Timeline”

Nicely done.

MasterCard spot by MacLaren McCann in Toronto “cuts” through the clutter in the most literal sense of the word because of its focus on the pain, sacrifice and humanity behind every true sports icon. A hockey legend’s many surgical scars from his playing days trace a humbling “timeline” across his skin. At the end, the player simply sits in the locker room alone, a poignant image of a man who earned his accolades by paying the painful price many times and always skating back onto the ice for more. It’s Bobby Orr, but he’s never ID’d, implying that his hard-earned achievements outlive the fleeting fame. Besides, in Canada, they’ll know who he is.
