Designers Rally the Avengers’ Call

I saw The Avengers movie here in Manila pretty early in com­par­i­son to its US-release, which is Fri­day, May 4th. I was sur­prised how good it was know­ing that there’s a lot of char­ac­ters that they need to cover, and still make it a uni­form unit with lots of action and eye-candy. It did not dis­ap­point­ment nonetheless.

With most of the inter­na­tional debut of the movie, artists & design­ers alike answered The Avengers’ call, and came up with these impres­sive works of art & design.

Years ago, I was learn­ing about Tiles & Struts as we were tran­si­tion­ing to it from a very old sys­tem (Vignette). We got to tweak stuff, as well as cre­ate from the ground up. With this project, I recall using Blue­print CSS for the first time in a pro­duc­tion stage. But that’s for another story, for another time.

Inspiration — Grzegorz Domaradzki

I’ve been fol­low­ing Grze­gorz Domaradzki’s work for a while. His illus­tra­tions just have a hint of clean sketch­i­ness in them (in terms of those lines) that I’ve grown to love. Not only that, he also shows a break­down of his work­flow which def­i­nitely adds more of an inter­est­ing twist of how cal­cu­lat­ing his thought process could be fore­seen; only to pro­duce more respect at the works’ qual­ity and uniqueness.
