To Every Man, Woman & Child…
- We Want an End to the Glamorization of Negativity in the Media.
- We Want an End to Status Symbols Dictating Our Worth As Individuals.
- We Want a Meaningful and Universal Education System.
- We Want Substance in the Place of Popularity.
- We Will Not Compromise Who We Are to Be Accepted by the Crowd.
- We Want the Invisible Walls That Separate by Wealth, Race & Class to Be Torn Down.
- We Want to Think Our Own Thoughts.
- We Will Be Responsible for Our Environment.
- We Want Clarity & Truth from Our Elected Officials or They Should Move Aside.
- We Want Love Not Lies.
- We Want an End to All Wars. Foreign & Domestic (Violence).
- We Want an End to the Processed Culture of Exploitation, Over-Consumption & Waste.
- We Want Knowledge, Understanding & Peace.
- WE WILL NOT LOSE BECAUSE WE ARE NOT LOSERS, WE ARE LASERS!!!
Lasers are the opposite of losers. Lasers are shining beams of light that burn through the darkness of ignorance. Lasers shed light on injustice and inequality. Losers stand by and let things happen. Lasers act and shape their own destinies. Lasers find meaning and direction in the mysteries all around them. Lasers stand for love and compassion. Lasers stand for peace. Lasers stand for progression. Lasers are revolutionary.
Lasers Are The Future. We’re Not Losers… We Are L.A.S.E.R.S.!!!
Love Always Shines Every-time Remember 2 Smile!

With influences from “art, history, science, the 80s, cartoons, Where in the World is Carmen San Diego, and of course personal misfortune/insecurity”, Hey Champ rocks it. The band is made up of Saam Hagshenas (vox, guitar, keys), Jon Marks (rhythm, vox, keys), and Pete Dougherty (keys, synths).
I’m digging their music video for Gold Dust Girl. The opening part just reminds me of the rave scene from Matrix Reloaded (after Morpheus addresses Zion, and Neo & Trinity gets jiggy). Anyways, check it out:
By the way, Lupe just recently signed them to his label FNF. For him to pick them up, you know they are headed no other way than up! Here’s Lupe broadcasting Hey Champ’s signing:
Congrats! FNF UP!

Update
Here’s how Nikki Jean met Lupe (as posted on her Youtube vlog 2008-10-17).
Kanye West, co-starring: Rihanna, N.E.R.D, and Lupe Fiasco
Awesome show. I went to the San Jose HP Pavilion one this past Saturday, 4/19th. Too bad I missed most of Lupe’s. Oh well, I guess I just have to roll and see him in a smaller venue.
Anyways, this is a dope show/concert to go to—well worth the money and time. I scored an awesome 4‑star VIP tix and sat Front‑2, Row-10, Seat-14 right dead-smack center and aisle.
Everyone was on point w/ their performances… and didn’t say the wrong city =) (I read that Kanye said “Seattle” up in the Sacramento Arco Arena show 4/18th)—no love for the Kings haha
