Looks like we can see a glimpse of brilliance again from the group, The Very Best. Esau Mwamwaya, Johan Hugo and Mc Mo Laudi present a wild ride through the influences of their new album due in 2011 with this mix entitled, “Circles” (presented by oki-ni)…
I guess some of the songs in this mix will surprise people who are familiar with our music, but in one way or another they all mean something to our musical journey. We used to call Esau Mwamwaya the African Phil Collins because he’s a drummer and singer, and we also tried to work with Phil on the Warm Heart Of Africa album, hence why he’s in the mix.
When we where recording the new album this summer we shut ourselves in a cabin in the Swedish forest and didn’t have any music but a Coldplay CD left behind in the house. Every time we drove to the shop to get some food or drinks we would hear Alicia Keys ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ on the radio and we fell in love with the song… Adiemus is the kind of majestic song we hope to make one day…
The Very Best has always been a lot about melody and that’s kind of the theme for this mix too, melodies that blow our mind.
