Eventful Weekend with Rhythm Natives in SF

My bro and his brohams, the Rhythm Natives, went to visit the Bay Area this past weekend. They were part of Bambu’s Smugglers Tour in SF. I had the opportunity in taking some photos from both their shows: Friday, May 20th at 111 Minna Gallery; and Saturday, May 21st at Rockit Room.

Luckily, we survived The Rapture or I wouldn’t have been able to get these posted. =)

Pon de Floor

What is so addicting with this dope-ass beat?!

I heard it first with Major Lazer’s “Pon de Floor”.

Then later last year in 2010, Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Ass On The Floor”.

And recently, Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)”.

Whatever it is—dope beat is dope.

Daikokuya

Lots of ramen spots in DTLA. So which one to go with? Well, the 3 I like heading to when the stomach is yearning for some would probably be:

  1. Daikokuya
  2. Kouraku
  3. Orochon

But I won’t really get into all 3, this post is all about Daikokuya. I’ve always wanted to go but the long wait just wasn’t something I can do during the multiple attempts in Little Tokyo.

Screenstagram

Screenstagram—pretty cool screensaver for Mac OSX.

Screenstagram displays photos from Instagram. It can show you your friends’ photos or photos from the Instagram popular feed, which contains highly rated photos from across the Instagram community.

Here’s a video of it doing its thing.
