K’naan — The Dusty Foot Philosopher

I don’t know if I have heard of K’naan a while back but after experiencing a glimpse of ABC’s featuring Chubb Rock during an ABDC break I was hooked. I don’t want to spend too much time talking about the experience, as its best to leave you to have a go at it.

I’d say to quickly cop his latest album, Troubadour, and have a listen. It’s guaranteed not to disappoint your ears, your mind and your heart.

But if you’d like to hear a bit of what the man is all about, here’s a 120-second short of K’naan through the Friends We Love documentary.

Somali MC & musician K’naan shares his views on language as not only a tool for communication but also as a cultural carrier and its influence in the way we view ourselves and our surrounding environment.

Meanwhile, here are some of the songs I’m digging from his latest album:

Last but not least, here’s one that shows his prowess to share his experience with the World, Kicked & Pushed.

I hope you learn something, and if you’d like to know more, you may follow him on Twitter @thedustyfoot.
