Oyaji

Some sushi, some biru, and some good ramen, originally uploaded by stechico.

In the SF area? More specifically, in the Outer Richmond? Feenin’ for some izakaya, good sushi and ramen? This is the place to be for those near the Outer Richmond. Parking can be hectic but easy as well. I parked at the Legion of Honor lot on a Friday night (I think that was on 34th and Clement St.).

Daikokuya

Lots of ramen spots in DTLA. So which one to go with? Well, the 3 I like heading to when the stomach is yearning for some would probably be:

  1. Daikokuya
  2. Kouraku
  3. Orochon

But I won’t really get into all 3, this post is all about Daikokuya. I’ve always wanted to go but the long wait just wasn’t something I can do during the multiple attempts in Little Tokyo.

Interchangeable Shadow Reflection

Golden Purple Thai by stechico.

Had the opportunity to go to the City and do some errands. Also grabbed a couple of things from URBN with some gift cards I finally found. After, I got hungry and headed up the hill to King Thai aka. “Purple Thai” as we refer to it.

So, while looking at the photo more, it got me thinking deep. It’s kind of like “Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey” shorts. A reflection can be a shadow(?). But can a shadow be a reflection, or is it merely just itself—a shadow? “Things that make you go… hmmm.” What say you?

Asha Osha Elephants by stechico.

Besides the great and tasty food that they offer, Asha Osha — Thai Restaurant has a lot of elephant figurines/statues as decor. This set was a “double-take.”

Update
After calling it “Asha” for the past few months, I finally got the correct spelling from a friend. It’s actually “Osha”.
