Diesel XXX Party 20081011

Diesel, “the Italian jeans, casuals and other clothing manufacturer”, has been promoting their “XXX Party” which will be launching on October 11, 2008. It will be held in 17 cities around the globe:Tokyo, Beijing, Dubai, Athens, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Milan, Munich, Paris, Oslo, Stockholm, Zurich, London, Sao Paolo, and New York.

Headliners include: N.E.R.D., M.I.A., Chaka Khan, Joel & Benji Madden, 2ManyDJs, Soulwax, Mr. Oizo, Junkie XL, Steve Aoki, Uffie, David Holmes, Pedro Winter, The Cool Kids, Lindstrom, Sister Bliss, New York Pony Club, The View, Mark Ronson, and many more.

Now, other than a clean, grungy splash page for the party, the marketing team came up with a widget (promo video) to have party goers and supporters alike forward the word to their friends and families. I got a laugh out of it and think the use of the illustrated parts and/or cartoons were awesome. That and entitling it SFW XXX is pretty genius:

Thanks to Mik for forwarding the video.

M.I.A. in the City

M.I.A. Wednesday 10/5/05 at SF

M.I.A. (aka. Maya Arulpragasam) will be in SF this week. She’ll be over at the Virgin Megastore doing an in-store performance and signing this Wednesday, October 5th at 6pm. Hope to catch that and get some picks of her in action.

Meanwhile, the same night, she’ll be heading over to The Grand Ballroom at Regency Center (1300 Van Ness) for a show. Only $20 (available through ticketmaster). I hope to catch this one for sure rather than seeing her at Oakland Arena on December 1st cause of the smaller venue factor. Even though she’s duo-ing with Gwen at Oakland. Damn–its both a win-win situation. Choices, choices, choices.

Anyways, if you aint doing Wednesday night, those are the places to be to get hit by smashing, new sound. It’ll for sure rock your socks. See you there.
