October 16th, 2008  |  Published in Events

Though quite new in Los Angeles, Johnny Cupcakes (JC) have been well known and received way before opening their first ever store in Boston. Anyways, to keep things short (since people are already in line), JC is having a third series release of its very limited collection, “There’s Something in the Cupcake Mix” The release “consists of 4 extremely limited, exclusive t-shirts that are released once a year, during the Halloween season. This year they will even be more scarce due to the splitting between both locations, Boston and LA.”

A few new details about series #3:
  • Designs have been turned up a notch + bringing some ghoulish, familiar faces to the kitchen table.
  • Better box design + construction.
  • More hidden gems.
  • These will NOT be available online, only in Boston + LA.
  • 4 designs. 1 colorway of each. 150 total of each. Split between both Boston + LA = 75 pieces per design. Split between sizes and genders = only a handful to a dozen of each size, per gender, per design.
  • Every t-shirt will have a silk screened number on the back, to guarantee authenticity.
  • Each box will be hand numbered.
  • Each box will be equipped with different hidden trivia pertaining to the limited monster inside.
  • A vanilla frosting scented scratch ‘n’ sniff sticker will be on top of each box.
  • When opening up your sealed box, you will have to dust real sprinkles off of your sealed t-shirt.
  • We are encouraging every customer to DRESS UP in your best costumes.
  • Real cupcakes, beverages and some pizza pizza will be given out the night of.
  • A special limited, dated shirt will be given out to the first 100 or so customers.
  • Photos + video webisodes will be taken at both releases.
  • All of this and more for $75 per collectible product.
  • These will sell out. We encourage you to arrive early (like now!)

Tree Town Print - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

You can now get your favorite shirt designs on print from Threadless. They are starting w/ a limited run of 250 per design; costing at about $35 at the moment (size 18″x24″). I just emailed them wondering if they’ll be hooking that up w/ a framing service as well–I think they are personally if the cost ain’t too much. It just makes sense.

Caught Taking Off My Pants?

June 26th, 2007  |  Published in Uncategorized

Today started off weird. I was at the bus stop waiting for my bus to go to the City, when I suddenly hear a loud voice coming from behind me:

“HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

I was caught off guard as I suddenly turned towards the source. With a quick glance, I suddenly saw this old man in front of his house (which is next to the bus stop). I quickly gave a look around if it was me he was talking to. I also think I did a quick Taxi monologue (”You talkin’ to me…?”).

I then responded in a dumbfounded manner:

“Excuse me?” He replies with the same question. “Good morning. I’m waiting for the bus…(?)”

While saying that, I was taking a look below me. “I have my pants on for sure,” I said to myself. Then, the following ensued:

  • old man: “Waiting for the bus…? I just saw you taking your pants off.”
  • me: “What??? No, just waiting for my bus haha” *crackin’ up inside*
  • old man: “Well… I thought I saw you taking off your pants.”
  • me: “Haha… It’s too early in the week for that” *smiling to lighten things up*
  • old man: “Too early in the week? Not for my week(!)”

I think he was still somewhat pissed off. I didn’t really pay attention as I was still crackin’ up inside, and not trying to show it.

Meanwhile, after catching the bus, I took a moment to reminisce. Before he came out gun-slinging out of his house, I remember putting my keys in my backpack. Now, there was a faux rock thing that covers those power/cable/phone outlets on the pavement. I know that I have put my backpack down in front of me, on top of that faux rock. I… just happen to be facing his house while doing it. That, and he probably heard me zip-up my backpack haha.

The thing that bother me is, he probably was observing me the whole time even before I zipped up my bag. Damn, what a crazy morning and a crazy dude.

From my mind to yours, when waiting for a bus: make sure to look out for crazy home bodies; be understanding if they all of sudden prowl at you for no reason at all; and be ready for a great laugh–though it seems very weird HA!
