It all started with her being photographed by Steve McCurry in 1984. Probably one of the most famous portrait in modern times. What strikes the most are her eyes. You’re just drawn to them right away (at least I am).
I’ve been noticing some new portraits that focuses on this style per se. So I figured to make a list which I’ll constantly update as I get hypnotized.
My bro and his brohams, the Rhythm Natives, went to visit the Bay Area this past weekend. They were part of Bambu’s Smugglers Tour in SF. I had the opportunity in taking some photos from both their shows: Friday, May 20th at 111 Minna Gallery; and Saturday, May 21st at Rockit Room.
Luckily, we survived The Rapture or I wouldn’t have been able to get these posted. =)
Well, is it? A couple of months old in terms of the video/documentary in this post, but its still relevant. Probably as relevant years ago when there were a lot of cameras to pick from. Anyways… Lee Morris of Fstoppers.com shoots a full fashion photography session with the iPhone 3Gs.

Developed by two commercial photographers from Melbourne, the concept was stumbled upon when we turned a tiny room into a digital photobooth for a studio lunch party. It was an instant hit, with queues of people and around 800 shots taken by the end of the night!
The following day we thought ‘let’s build one’. So we did!
Though based in Melbourne, they service most parts of Australia. It also seems that they are open to the possibility of events outside of the country as they have it as an option on their site’s estimate form. For more info, you may check them out at photobooth.com.au
