Just in case you haven’t heard of her yet, she’s a pretty dope, talented singer-songwriter hailing from the UK. Diggin’ her sound. It’s like Lykke Li x Björk.

If you have been following Jalen Testerman and Angelo “Lil Demon” Baligad, then you’re in for a treat. American Apparel recently released a new campaign with the two showing what they do best with AA’s new wear for the season.

What is so addicting with this dope-ass beat?!
I heard it first with Major Lazer’s “Pon de Floor”.
Then later last year in 2010, Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Ass On The Floor”.
And recently, Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)”.
Whatever it is—dope beat is dope.

Santigold has never been one to mince words. The Brooklyn-bred musician turned heads with her 2008 eponymous album and collaborations with artists such as The Beastie Boys, Major Lazer and others. Here, along with the premiere of her new track “GO (feat. Karen O),” Santi decodes the meaning of the song (which was produced by Q-Tip, Switch and Santi herself, along with Nick Zinner on guitar), working with Karen O of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the concept of the new American Dream.

Caught sight of this from the homegirl Tricia:
In Bam’s words: “Something” is a song that was released this past March, during Women’s History Month in hopes of raising awareness about violence against women. These are the accompanying visuals, by Oishi Media, starring Tep Castillo. The Hip Hop community rarely takes a firm stance against such issues and often times celebrates such acts – “… all I heard was Poppa don’t hit me no more…” This song will be included on the re-release of Exact Change on the bonus disc titled, Short Changed dropping on April 29th.
Tell me this doesn’t hit you to the core.
Here’s the video “Something” by Bambu.
